The Sacred Heart of Humankind Sees All Things In Their Glory

Article Highlights:

sacred heartHappy Holidays ,

Guess what?  I’m flying to the Seattle area for the holidays!  As my Christmas present, my kids gifted me a trip to be with them and we’re rendezvousing in Washington State, near Seattle.  We haven’t been together since Covid descended on us all and I’m soOoo looking forward to seeing children and grandchildren again!

We’ll be in an area where we’ve all lived at various time so we’ll probably visit old haunts, walk familiar paths and revel and enjoy being together.  I’m beyond excited and that’s a very fun place to be.

I love this season because the world lifts and brightens.  True, not all celebrate the same holiday.  True, things can be too commercial or hectic.  And true, many people are lonely or challenged in the world.  But generally speaking an enormous portion of humanity turns to love, traditions, family, giving, and the sacred.

The collective lift can be felt – there is less turbulence, less focus on what doesn’t matter or what divides us.  There’s  a feeling of anticipation for solstice, ceremony, family traditions, presents and a New Year.  And there is an enhanced feeling of goodwill toward others. (more…)

The Promise of the Light

I TRULY NOW DO HAVE 3 new videos on my website
My book is available on Amazon

lightSince my book is all about Light, and since we are all lighting up our homes and workplaces and communities with candles and colored lights, in December I’m sharing another excerpt or two from my book that seem perfect for celebrating the light.

That gives a little gift to those who don’t wish to buy the book, feels dear and familiar to those who have purchased and enjoyed it, and lets me focus more on the holiday and a little less on my writing right now.  Perfect.

The Promise of the Light

Light teases greater love, more gratitude, more kindness, peace, beauty, wisdom into our ways of thinking and reacting to our lives. That’s what it does.  That is the promise of the Light. (more…)

Article Highlights:

mayet and granchildDear Sparkle,

You might remember this picture – I think I shared it with you soon after the birth of my first great-grandchild just a few years ago.  I share that moment in a brief story in my book, We Are Light! – Experiencing the Truth of Who You Really Are.  It’s about the light we have when we first come to Earth

We sometimes call this dark season of the year the “season of Light” because we fill it with beautiful lights in celebration of the coming light.  This dear story seemed a fitting comment on this.

The Soul’s Light

I’m harvesting garlic for a friend on a small farm downstream from the bend of a lazy green river when my first great-grandchild decides to arrive one week ahead of my scheduled flight there.  Late to the birth, I realize it’s timely because the two first-time grandmothers are hungry to be with their grandchild as much as possible – a pleasure I’ve already experienced numerous times.

Once there, because so many have come to spend time with the newborn and their parents, it’s not until the eve of my departure that space opens to allow me a luxury of time with the little one.  That evening, I’m able to take him in my arms after dinner, sitting in the old rocking chair with its comforting squeak.  We’re peaceful together and content, hours passing until gradually all others in the household are in bed.  (more…)
