About My Work Changes: Using Action to Pave My Own Path

- What is my “IT”?
- Paving my own way
As I’ve mentioned, Spirit has been nudging me to broaden what I share with others. I’ve resisted this. Why?
I haven’t wanted a big picture, or wished for a big following. I don’t believe bigger is necessarily better. It doesn’t stir me.
As you’ve likely noticed, I don’t work social media or sell you things very often. I’ve been quite content to be sharing here with you and doing private sessions, working by referral.
Creating an ambitious project, goal or idea takes a lot of building, posting, liking, telling and selling. And producing more and more STUFF to keep building, posting, telling, selling and producing. It takes a lot followers, A LOT, to keep that boat afloat. And requires continuous sweat equity. And a good support team.
I have some very famous friends who have networks of famous friends who would share their experience and platforms to help me do that. However, as you’ve noticed, in the last many years I’ve only appeared irregularly and in smaller ways.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t judge those who want to have big platforms. I’m very happy they want to. I support them when I can. I admire them for doing so. But it’s not for me at this stage.
I prefer my picture to remain easily managed. I like it to have the potential to stay SMALL. That suits me. BUT.
Here’s the problem: the nudges haven’t stopped. Those on the inner continue to encourage me to share more expansively. They have not grown quieter about that, quite the opposite. So what to do?
What are they on about? What do they mean? Do what? That’s what they want ME to figure out. As well as how to do it my way, without a lot of yah yah, rah-rah. That’s up to me. Figure it out, gal.
OK, I’m willing to broaden what I do in some way.
How do I achieve that? What am I meant to share more of, exactly?
That’s what I’ve been circling around lately.
It’s been confusing. I’m clearly being called into greater action. What that means isn’t defined. Exactly what and how is not clear. My discovery process has felt like groping in the dark. I’m not finding it easy. Mostly because I’m overthinking, of course. But that’s part of the process.
In a host of ways I’m sweating and fretting as I puzzle my way through. My mind has chased in circles, you can be sure. I get off track, overwhelmed. I want it to happen faster and it’s not, which is frustrating. I wish someone else would solve this. They can’t. You’ve been there, you can relate. Not knowing is uncomfortable.
Fact: The path to clarity is paved with confusion.
Thankfully, I’ve just discovered a secret ancient principle (joking here.) It’s called KISS: “Keep it simple silly.” That’s the big AHA this week. Simple is often not easy to arrive at! It usually takes surrender.
I might finally be glimpsing the obvious, lol. By next week I hope to have a bit of progress to report. I’ll share, if so.
For now, I’m still making-mountains-out-of-molehills. But that’s shifting, I see glimmers of simplicity. I’m hopeful. Fingers crossed, dear ones, fingers crossed.
Love, as always,

More About Your Life Changes: A Message from Wisdom

- A Message from Wisdom
Interestingly several of you replied to my mailing last week called, My Life’s Changing, How About Yours? Many of you are experiencing a lot of shifting too, it seems.
More than one of you mentioned you’ve been focused on being and now need to start doing. BUT you feel a little in the dark because you don’t know what to focus on. You don’t feel clear what IT is you should take action on. It seems like an unclear path through dimly lit woods.
It can be very chicken or egg, right? Which comes first, knowing or doing? That’s an interesting spiritual question.
Does knowing what IT is need to come before doing IT?
As I ponder your remarks, it seems useful to share a message I received on that topic.
A Message From Wisdom
There is No Path Until it is Walked
“In truth, there is no path until it is walked. Thus, to find out what your IT is, simply begin somewhere, taking a step as best you can. You have heard this before, yes? Why? At this stage it is about building up energy, not about knowing your specifics.
At this stage a step can even end up being completely wrong yet still be the right first, or next, step. That’s because it is not about getting it right. It’s about building energy toward your intention to be newly engaged, to make changes, reinvent or birth anew. Your intent is to create the path.
Act on that intention, with only the expectation of getting into action. Action supports your desire to discover, to unfold, to learn, to engage, to create. This is very compelling to the energies of creation within your personal universe.
Choose another stepping stone to put in front of yourself and act on it. Those stepping stones give movement. The movement creates a path, the path – though seemingly to nowhere – takes you to something that leads to something else, and so on.
This builds energy that ultimately creates shape and form.
The problem for many is that you give up after only a few steps are taken. So the energy doesn’t accumulate but leaks away. Avoid this peril. Do not abandon yourself.
Persist without self-judgement, bringing to the process more enjoyment, more curiosity and interest. Give your process generous amounts of your determination and willingness to be active. It will reward you, that is certain.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Over time I’ve come to call this “living the path into being” using the energy of active participation. The key is realizing that the purpose of the many first steps is to use action to build up energy.
Knowing the IT – the ONE final thing – is not the point yet. Wisdom has said over and over to me, “De-emphasize WHAT, quit trying to define IT, focus on being purposefully active each day. Rubbing sticks together will result eventually in lighting your own special fire.”
That said, I leave you to ponder how you’ve seen this in your own life already, and what it means now. Next week, I’ll give you an idea of what that’s looked like for me and where I am regarding my “work” changes.
Raising a glass to change,
With love,
Mayet
My Life’s Changing, How About Yours?
August 29, 2024
Article highlights:
- Big changes in my life
- The need to reinvent yourself and/or your life
There are some big changes going on in my life, how about yours? I’ll be talking more about my changes in the next weeks but for today I wanted to say something about this more generally.
It seems to be a time of change not only for me but for many I know and hear from. Divorce, marriage, moving, jobs ending, jobs starting, new babies, loss of friends and family, health challenges, new projects… it’s the relatively bigger life-stuff.
For instance, my work is changing and I’m not yet sure exactly what my new work picture will be. But I’m in a reinvention for sure. Many of us find ourselves needing – or wanting – to reinvent ourselves and our lives right now.
So here’s the thing about big changes and reinventions. There’s ALWAYS a lot of unknown within that, which means there’s no road map. Because we first have to get a sense of the new landscape and gain a clearer understanding about where we are headed within it. Which is a discovery process.
That means a lot of questioning, planning, responding, deciding. That’s stressful. Unavoidably stressful. AND we can find ourselves drowning in details, details, details. In such periods, overwhelm is ever-present. You know what I’m talking about right?
I’m not going to belabor this today; I just wanted to mention it’s happening for a lot of us, maybe you too.
How to get through it with the very best outcome? Well, I’m getting a lot of messages from my life about one thing that’s needed. AND it’s not something people such as ourselves necessarily agree with, or want to hear.
Yesterday I got the message again in the form of a quote from Elizabeth Gilbert – author of Eat, Pray, Love. It came as an indirect answer to my question about how to proceed when I’d been overwhelmed by all the details of change. Here’s what she said:
“You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your blessings.”
Yes, manifestation takes considerable action and application. We new agers sometimes give up too easily. Some of you lucky few have fistfuls of determination, unlimited energy, and love being challenged. The rest of us want things to be easy, to “manifest” without much effort.
I think we’ve been taught a lot of silly stuff that’s even caused us to think we’re spiritual failures if things aren’t easy. We take it as a sign and give up. We struggle with this.
Rebirth is what it is. There’s a lot of compression and pressure in the birth-canal. It’s not all that easy getting born… or reborn. Or birthing a new project or phase of life.
It’s being suggested to me that we need to face up to this, step up, and “participate relentlessly in the manifestations” of our own blessings.
That’s the message I’m getting. So I’m sucking it up and getting on with it whether I feel like it or not. And often I don’t feel like it, but I’m doing it anyway, no matter the resistance I feel.
Doing that – funnily enough – I’m finding that things are getting a little easier. Isn’t THAT interesting? It takes sweat and focus to pave Easy Street, apparently.
That’s my bit of musing for this week. Feel free to let me know how it’s going for you…
With renewed determination and action,
Mayet
