Frankincense, gold and myrrh are said to be the gifts the wise men carried as they followed their special light toward divinity. Why were these the three gifts of the three Magi? Can you feel what they symbolize stirring something in you, just as the Christmas star stirs your own inner light?
As I’ve mentioned before, symbols are mathematical perfections that reflect the creation and manifestations of sound and Light. They are vibrations of pure resonance of thought that ring through the ethers connecting all to fullness of Source.
Symbols are actually configurations and waves of the pure living light and love that come into our dimension through the power of heart.
Symbology is a profound ancient esoteric science of cause and effect. Crop circles is symbology, light language is symbology. When you work with Tarot and other cards and their images and words you are using symbology. Colors also have associations and symbology attached. Symbols communicate through our senses, so using scent is another way of working with symbology, as is chanting.
Symbols speak to your heart, they impress your energetic system and affect your personal geometry. They bypass mind to communicate what cannot be said as fully in words.
Why were Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh handed down to us as symbols of what this holiday represents? Two of them are scent, one a precious metal. What are their associations and effects said to be?
Gold is an element considered to be very pure in form, so gold can be said to symbolize purity. In alchemical terms, gold is considered to have the power to transform the electron into other combinations and qualities. Allowing all energy to be filtered through it, it has been thought that gold purifies one’s energetic shield and electromagnetic force.
This is an effect of gold. But gold itself also represents the golden light of the sun, which has been an esoteric symbol of God since ancient times. So these two things are part of gold’s symbology. And, it represents the golden light within.
Frankincense and Myrrh are both resin essences coming from trees found in Africa, India and the Arabian peninsula. In local folk medicines, both are considered to have many medicinal qualities such as antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral properties.
In terms of esoteric knowledge, Frankincense is said to purify one’s inner world of existence. It’s considered a power elixir that strengthens the soul. It is also said to facilitate access to higher symbolism and aid in interpreting light language and the communication of fullness.
Myrrh is said to create a field of resonance around the heart chakra that strengthens and elevates its electromagnetic frequencies, facilitating movement of qualities and ideas from the inner world into the physical.
Looking at gold, frankincense and myrrh together we can say they are symbols and facilitators of the manifestation of light and creation into physical form. Working together they purify and prepare the field and facilitate moving one’s spiritual work from the inner world into the outer.
They facilitate connection to higher symbology and understanding of universal language. They then assist the movement of refined symbols, ideas, thoughts etc outward into physical form – moving the light within, in its more refined forms of creation, out into the physical world. And isn’t this what our holiday season itself actually symbolizes? And what our work is in the world?
This tells us how and why it is valuable to participate in the season with a fullness of joy in your heart. This is the time to purify your field, strengthen your heart, connect to your light and your light work, and allow your inner light to radiate into your own life and into the world, both so in need of all that the light carries.
A trinity of three Magi – a trinity always being symbolic of divinity – on a journey facilitated by a trinity of gifts and guided by a mysterious Star Light, toward the birth of a new expression of light in the world. That was then and is now as we come around again to that point but higher on the spiral.
I love placing oil of Frankincense and Myrrh in my diffuser, connecting to the symbols and knowing of ancient times, and becoming an individual star of light radiating from my own cozy little holiday house to those of you doing the same in yours, beloved stars of wonder and light.
I’m beaming love to you as you read today, and I feel yours warming my heart as well.
Happy Holidays, May all be safe and warm, May all know they are loved, May all know the god-light that fills their being. This is my holiday prayer,
XOMaHuLiLi
