The Allegory of The Light Room and the Dark

You live in a two-room house. One room is your living area, the other is storage space. The living room has huge windows and great views. The storage room has no window and no electricity.

You are afraid to go into the storage room because you’re a little afraid of the dark. Truth be told, you’re also a little afraid that, if you open that door too often, the darkness will flood into your living room!

That’s superstition though and here’s what’s true, of course:
Even if you throw open the door between the rooms – and place a doorstop to keep it open – the darkness can’t really impact your light-filled living room. Yet the light from the living room floods into the dark room enough to see it is full of gifts.

This is the season when we really learn this: You are the flame that is the light to your world. That light floods you, even your darkest corners. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
