The special December 15th ceremony of Light is called The Portals of Light and the Gateway of the Great Central Sun. It brings closure to the energies of 2022 and previous years, and opens the opportunities for expansion and greater blessings inherent in 2023 by facilitating profound integration with the Golden Light of Being. Dear Northern Star,
Today we enter Christmas month, the close of the year and a season when our minds turn toward endings and beginning anew. The ceremony mentioned above is one of both clearing and renewal, designed to take us into 2023 with a cleansing ritual and a rewire or boost. Among other things it assists in shifting old perspectives and opening you to new gifts for the opportunities ahead. Even though this is the darkest month of the year, I think of it as the season of Lights because we’re surrounded by so many twinkling white and colored lights. Oklahoma City has many amazing drive-through Christmas displays and I had such fun last year seeking some of those out and driving through miles of beautiful lighted landscapes.
I always feel we love them because they remind us of the lights we are. The photo today is from a walk I took with friends in Santa Fe, New Mexico about this time last year. It’s not only fun but evocative to move through magical lighted wonderlands, isn’t it? It’s like following your own light, the guiding star you in fact are.
That thought reminds me of something I wrote in my book, “We Are Light!”

The Light that’s built into your being is your constant, your North Star. When you follow it, your way is more true and sure. Some say that to find your purpose you should follow your passion. Some say that to make the right choice you should follow your heart. Others might suggest you let your intuition lead you. And some feel serendipity is the key to knowing the right way. Here is another suggestion. Follow your own Light, for it includes all these and so much more. You can trust the Light within you. It is your best guiding star.”

This thought – of moving through the Wonderland of Being that I am, wandering the path of my own light – gives me much delight as I imagine and contemplate, practice and explore who I really am.
Seeing everywhere the decorative lights of December, may we each feel ourselves twinkle and sparkle as brightly. That’s a nice little prayer for today, isn’t it?
