Dear Beloved River,
My manuscript is done as well as all the bits and pieces that go with it like the Introduction and Afterword, Dedication, etc. etc. I sent it all off for layout and cover work. I am happy dancing. Even though it’s not available to you yet, I just wanted to celebrate a moment with you. 💥💃 🎈
One of the things that happens when writing a book, is you write more material than you need; there are bits or sections that don’t make the cut. Today’s blog is a piece that didn’t make the book, but I think we’ll enjoy it together here.
Reaching the Promised Land
It is as though we have dreamed of a Promised Land, a Heaven or Nirvana just beyond reach on the opposite shore of a powerful river. We have thought we needed to cross that vast river to access the wonders of the Promised Land. Therefore, we’ve focused on the far shore, making many attempts to reach that mysterious, more enlightened place, falling short of the goal each time.
Then, to our surprise we realize we are that very River. We are the River that flows through countless extraordinary lands touching all the shores of unlimited promise and potential, rising always into physical form from the River’s source of life, and returning always to that same Great Ocean of Being.
Going forward as the River, is to become the flow of life in all its vastness. We are flowing sometimes languidly, other times in turbulent rapids, but always flowing and changing, a River creating its own wonderful path, a meandering way that is uniquely, for each, our own.
Like the River, we are of course far more than is visible to the eye – we are a fullness of Light and Presence living a life in form. We know this. But actually going forward in life enacting that realization is a profound thing. Knowing the truth of our own infinite, indestructible unborn Soul, and acting from that Soul, is like becoming the river we have tried for so many eons to cross, thinking it a hurdle to be overcome.
It is the difference between being a student of life and being the Force of Life. This knowing of our true nature allows the flow of Presence – the great River of Love and Light – to be the flow that we express our lives within. In this way, we are the River itself. And the River that we are reveals, in its course, each life as most truly intended.
Important realizations here… I’m going to pause now before going back into my day, taking time to ponder this and integrate it deeper. You can join me in that if you like, I’ll hold space for you.
Sending you much love today,
Mayet Ma Hulili Leilani
