Dear Party-goer,
Two friends and I were gathering for ceremony in the evening around my fire pit. Just for fun. Just to amaze ourselves and get goosebumps. It’s the spiritual grownup’s version of tingling tales around the campfire. AHA’s and ancestors, chant and song and prayer instead of spooky stories.
Thinking of this with a smile, I walked the park that afternoon before getting together. I paused on the bridge over the river that runs through Will Roger’s park In Oklahoma City. Watching the black swans gracefully circling below, I was lost in the moment.
Semi-entranced, a dear little poem began swimming around in my mind along with the swans. I captured it on my iPhone because I could tell it wanted to come to ceremony with me that evening.
I was excited to have something fun to share because I knew my friends would too, they always do. None of us were disappointed, we had a ball. Spiritual party-gals and guys are so much fun!
The wind rose, rustling like voices in the beautiful treetops of my backyard. The fire ebbed and glowed, messages did too as the energy flowed strongly. We each shared the words of the ancestors and those who walk with us in the unseen worlds. Our hearts opened and lifted our voices in songs and prayers of thanksgiving and rejoicing. We spoke our visions for the world and called blessing to us all.
My gorgeous potted Peony was part of the circle, blooming and heavy with generous magenta puffs of ruffles that fluffed prettily in the breeze. The moon was new and we were too. It was good to be alive, there was no doubting that.
After, I’d prepared a small feast of Alaska Salmon, salad and veg. And a special sugar-free treat that gave us all delight. What a good time we had, warmed by Spirit, buoyed by laughter, happy in good company, sated. We left aglow, our heart-lights strengthened and burning brighter.
It’s time to party with Spirit like never before! So I’m suggesting you might have a ceremonial moment and party, alone or with friends, on zoom or in the room – it really doesn’t matter. Bring what comes to you. And if you like, include me and my little poetic offering. If you do, I’ll join you too, I know you’ll feel me there.
I Am God-Light
I Am starlight, I am dew
I Am moonlight, through and through
I Am sunbeams strong and bright
I Am winter’s snowy white
I Am desert’s rarest bloom
I Am seasons gone too soon
I Am dawning into day
I’m fluffy clouds that lift away
I’m the river’s flood and flow
I Am storms that come and go
I Am birds out on the wing
I’m fields and forests where they sing
I Am oceans, I Am air
I Am people everywhere
Breath of life and hearth-glow too
I’m the Love-Light, so are you.

Aren’t we all, indeed?!
Loving you as always,
Mayet MaHulili Leilani
