If you have resistant patterns or pressing questions and concerns that are interfering with your joy, my new NorthStar special is a good session for you. If you have health concerns, it’s a great session for healing. If you have a goal or project you’d like to explore or you want to understand your current focus and direction better, it’s a good session for these too.
The other session for the special price is my Bardo Session which is a Ceremonial Session for leaving the patterns of the past behind. It’s a profound clearing and reboot at many levels of your being. Each session is 50 mins and is currently offered at the special price of $69. I recall learning in Junior High science class that matter – myself included – was largely space. The instructor explained this by telling us that atoms are largely space and are constantly in movement. He explained that even the desk in front of each of us was merely micro-particles rotating at high speed to create the illusion of solidity. “Pretty convincing illusion,” I remember thinking, rapping my desk with my knuckles.
To illustrate this further he said it was much like a motion picture that appears to be one steady stream of linear images woven together by storyline but actually comprised of individual frames run at the right rate of speed so as to appear continuous and fluid.
I recall feeling a sense of wonder and awe as I contemplated this and being inspired by the world of implications and possibilities it seemed to open up. You may recall having similar thoughts and feelings when learning this the first time.
It seemed life-changing information but did it really change my life and perception? Did it actually change how I moved through my day? In honesty, not really. Would you say the same? I would say I maintained the same focus on the so-called physical world throughout most of my life, even while remembering this greater truth from time to time.
I think I wasn’t sure what to “do” with that idea. I didn’t know how to make it something practical in my life. I couldn’t really imagine the real-world benefits of actually perceiving this differently in practical application. And things seemed to work fine as they were.
In fact, at a deeper level it seemed ill-advised to move in that direction and I felt a strong protective instinct to guard against it. After all, most people for whom the physical world was that loose and malleable struggled to have successful lives and even were often called mentally ill, right?
Yet science has not backed away from this seemingly “insane” idea, has it? Modern quantum physics has in fact advanced this understanding considerably. And it’s a thought that continues to inspire, excite and move us with it’s potential and implications.
None-the-less, we’re probably nearly as physically focused as ever. Have we moved much further from our very physical perception of ourselves and our world? Probably not most of us. Why would we, after all? What would the benefit be, practically speaking? And what would that look like, if not chaos?
People such as ourselves – interested in spiritual musings and exploration – tend to think of quantum science as “spiritual principles” that fall in the realm of metaphysics. We also tend to think of these as desirable to act upon. Is it spiritual? Is it desirable? How should it manifest, then? Time to consider this more deeply, perhaps.
Let’s look at a couple statements I came across recently by two physicists that lay out the basics of the idea. The first is by American-Brazilian-British scientist, David Bohm, (1917-1992) often described as one of the foremost theoretical physicists of the 20th century who contributed many unorthodox ideas to this field.
He is often quoted as saying, “The world we see is like a holographic image, a kind of external tapestry of impressions composed of the interference patterns of waves.” He’s certainly pointing to a far more mutable physically than the day-to-day appears to me.
More recently, modern physicist Nassim Haramein said the following:
“Tesla said – and I’m paraphrasing – if you want to think of the secrets of the universe, you have to think in terms of energy, vibration, frequency and oscillations… Matter is not a thing, there is no “thing” to matter. An atom is 99.999 percent space and the part that is not space is a small electro-magnetic field that is constantly fluctuating, and to think of that as something solid is incorrect.”
Well, there you go. It’s apparently not so easy to make a case for the absolute solidity of the physical world. And yet, we break the very solid-seeming bones in our bodies, crash our surely-physical cars, create building, bridges and entire worlds of physical objects. So.
But, let’s reiterate that we’re 99.999 percent space. And we’re only a fraction of 1 % matter. So we have to say that we spend 99.999% of our focus in relationship to less than 1% of ourselves, wouldn’t you agree? Feel the implications of this.
Now, for simplicity sake let’s just broadly define the 99.999% space that we are as what we call “spirit,” a much more highly refined form of matter. One could say that the main benefit of meditation, mindfulness and other such spiritual practices is to more often bring us into relationship with the rest of our self – the 99.999%. This puts us in relationship to the part of us that’s pure potential, ready to be defined, harnessed and utilized for our own good.
Examining things in this way makes it easy to see the immediate and practical benefits of personally integrating the advancing science of new physics in our lives, doesn’t it? And I’m not suggesting de-emphasizing or denigrating the physical. That old spiritual idea of denying the body wasn’t helpful in any way, was it?
I’m just suggesting that we each start relating to the part of us that is 99.999% “space” with real interest and a sense of fun. We can make it as seamless and integrated an awareness as is our physical sense of self and matter. Melding those two – being highly conscious of ourselves as both physical and spiritual matter is where the true opportunities lie.
Time in pause, meditation, spiritual practice, prayer, conscious thought, ceremony etc – these help bring the tally of our days, the sum of our minutes and hours, into more balanced awareness. And that’s a unique and highly desirable human state of being. That’s a worthy endeavor and fun adventure to be embarked upon. May our paths cross on this journey many times!
Much love to you on your path of spiritual and physical matter moving toward union – remember, it’s only possible while in body!
