What is the Meaning Behind Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh?

December 18, 2025

Frankincense, gold and myrrh are said to be the gifts the wise men carried as they followed their special light toward divinity.  Why were these the three gifts of the three Magi?  Can you feel what they symbolize stirring something in you, just as the Christmas star stirs your own inner light?

As I’ve mentioned before, symbols are mathematical perfections that reflect the creation and manifestations of sound and Light.  They are vibrations of pure resonance of thought that ring through the ethers connecting all to fullness of Source.

Symbols are actually configurations and waves of the pure living light and love that come into our dimension through the power of heart.

Symbology is a profound ancient esoteric science of cause and effect. Crop circles is symbology, light language is symbology.  When you work with Tarot and other cards and their images and words you are using symbology.  Colors also have associations and symbology attached.  Symbols communicate through our senses, so using scent is another way of working with symbology, as is chanting.

Symbols speak to your heart, they impress your energetic system and affect your personal geometry.  They bypass mind to communicate what cannot be said as fully in words.

Why were Frankincense, Gold and Myrrh handed down to us as symbols of what this holiday represents?  Two of them are scent, one a precious metal.  What are their associations and effects said to be?

Gold is an element considered to be very pure in form, so gold can be said to symbolize purity.  In alchemical terms, gold is considered to have the power to transform the electron into other combinations and qualities.  Allowing all energy to be filtered through it, it has been thought that gold purifies one’s energetic shield and electromagnetic force.

This is an effect of gold.  But gold itself also represents the golden light of the sun, which has been an esoteric symbol of God since ancient times.  So these two things are part of gold’s symbology.  And, it represents the golden light within.

Frankincense and Myrrh are both resin essences coming from trees found in Africa, India and the Arabian peninsula.  In local folk medicines, both are considered to have many medicinal qualities such as antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral properties.

In terms of esoteric knowledge, Frankincense is said to purify one’s inner world of existence.  It’s considered a power elixir that strengthens the soul.  It is also said to facilitate access to higher symbolism and aid in interpreting light language and the communication of fullness.

Myrrh is said to create a field of resonance around the heart chakra that strengthens and elevates its electromagnetic frequencies, facilitating movement of qualities and ideas from the inner world into the physical.

Looking at gold, frankincense and myrrh together we can say they are symbols and facilitators of the manifestation of light and creation into physical form.  Working together they purify and prepare the field and facilitate moving one’s spiritual work from the inner world into the outer.

They facilitate connection to higher symbology and understanding of universal language.  They then assist the movement of refined symbols, ideas, thoughts etc outward into physical form – moving the light within, in its more refined forms of creation, out into the physical world.  And isn’t this what our holiday season itself actually symbolizes?  And what our work is in the world?

This tells us how and why it is valuable to participate in the season with a fullness of joy in your heart.  This is the time to purify your field, strengthen your heart, connect to your light and your light work, and allow your inner light to radiate into your own life and into the world, both so in need of all that the light carries.

A trinity of three Magi – a trinity always being symbolic of divinity – on a journey facilitated by a trinity of gifts and guided by a mysterious Star Light, toward the birth of a new expression of light in the world.  That was then and is now as we come around again to that point but higher on the spiral.

I love placing oil of Frankincense and Myrrh in my diffuser, connecting to the symbols and knowing of ancient times, and becoming an individual star of light radiating from my own cozy little holiday house to those of you doing the same in yours, beloved stars of wonder and light.

I’m beaming love to you as you read today, and I feel yours warming my heart as well.
Happy Holidays, May all be safe and warm, May all know they are loved, May all know the god-light that fills their being.  This is my holiday prayer,
XOMaHuLiLi

How Keeping Your Motor Running Can Create New Vitality

December 11, 2025

Article Highlights:

  • The challenge to your momentum and vitality

Today I’m sharing a writing that comes from my personal messages during my morning musings, my daily spiritual practice.  I think this one might delight and inform your moment as it did mine.

I often ask for a guiding star for the week or a month, something that I then keep in mind, pondering it, finding ways to apply it, deepening into or expand it and integrate them each day.

This message came about as I pondered the difficulty that I and others seem to have these days in keeping momentum going.  By this I don’t mean difficulty keeping busy.  I’m referring to days or period when it feels flat, sluggish, or as if a peculiar fog makes it harder to keep my “oomph” up.  So I asked for a message about that.  Here is what came.  It’s interesting that it’s correlated with resistance, isn’t it?

Motion is Life — Life is Motion

Yes there are circumstances currently that foster resistance. Resistance energetics can create the same effect on you that “drag” does on a vehicle such as an airplane or car.  It makes it less efficient, requires more energy, and makes operation sluggish.

The antidote is to do what it takes to keep your energy active.  Vegging out, procrastinating, avoiding… these lead to inertia.  Inertia is a pulling back from your life and the danger is that your energy starts sliding down toward neutral.  When feeling on-going drag, it’s best to keep the motor running and in gear.  Rather than shifting into neutral because there stress implicit in that.  Momentum will not happen and it can be hard on the body.  Idling is not good for prolonged periods.  That’s because Life = Motion and Motion = Life.

Your physicality requires activity to foster your vitality.  When you are inactive frequently or over time, that sends a message to the body that you are moving onto the downhill side of life — in other words it triggers aging. It’s the equivalent of saying you are losing interest in life and are ready to have less of it.

So stay vital, alive and alert to the opportunities of movement.  Your body gives you subtle calls to activity.  Notice them and act on the impulses and nudges that come.  These might be as varied as a sudden urge to clean a closet, or an inspired impulse to call someone that stimulates your interests.  Many many such moments are you life right now.  Keep your eye out and stay in motion.  And when you feel resistance to that, press through… the action will facilitate the cure.

Motion is life and life is motion.  Staying in motion means feeling and being active in your cells, having flow in your vitality and good movement in your mind and emotions.  It gives your body the message that you are invested in continuing to live with vigor and health.  And in fact, in the moments you feel least like it — when you feel confused, grumpy, foggy, resistant, out of sorts — motion is actually your antidote.

~*~*~

Are you finding it hard to be fully engaged?  This happens to be a time when it is best not to give in to the resistance at play in our world right now.  We can’t really afford to let the physical slip toward inertia.

Despite not feeling like it, we are best to take a positive action, however small, to get up and get going, to shift into gear, even if the resistance is profound.  It won’t be but minutes before your engagement brings improvement.  Try it with real commitment and see.  For me, not that I love cleaning house, but I’m finding that small house projects are doing that for me.  Along with making art.

I wonder if you’re feeling this resistance sometimes too, and what works for you.

Dedicated to less couch time,
♥️ Mayet

I Am God-Light

I Am starlight, I am dew
I Am moonlight, through and through
I Am sunbeams strong and bright
I Am winter’s snowy white
I Am desert’s rarest bloom
I Am seasons gone too soon
I Am dawning into day
I’m fluffy clouds that lift away
I’m the river’s flood and flow
I Am birds out on the wing
I Am oceans, I am air
I Am people everywhere
Breath of life and hearth-glow too
I’m the Love-Light, so are you.
