4 Fabulous Antidotes to These Times

Something very unusual happened today. Something so against the odds that I’m still boggled by it.
Most of you know I have a set of writings I’ve done for clients for personal sessions over the years. At one point, I cut and pasted about 60 of them on individual numbered index cards.
I decided to draw one for us today in answer to, “What’s the antidote for the difficulties of these times?” I was wondering about the best way to bring hope and balance to the fear and concerns that beset us now.
When I started to shuffle the “deck,” a funny eruption of cards somehow happened. I fumbled and they exploded across the floor. All of them were face down except four.
I noted what those 4 were but I was looking for just one so I decided to draw again. I placed the 4 in different parts of the deck and shuffled all well. Once more I lost my grasp and when trying to grab them, 4 cards fell out.
You guessed it: they were the same 4 cards. What are the chances? The odds are soOoo against that happening. I realized that together they must be the message. And reading them, it was clear each is related to the others in a unique way – that’s also very unlikely for a random event, isn’t it?
So we have a 4-part antidote to staying balanced in discouraging times. Reading them together, I’m struck by the simple goodness and ease they remind us is possible. Together they provide a true antidote to fears and concerns rising on a daily basis. The way through is more simple than it might seem.
Because there were 4 cards, this is a bit longer blog. Perhaps scan for the one that speaks most to you right now. Or copy and print this out. Read it over the next few days with your morning coffee.
Today, I printed and read them w my afternoon tea. I’ve been feeling less robust mentally and emotionally since my illness, listless, having trouble finding the joy in life again after being down so long. My state of mind was a little down. (more…)
