A Dream For Today

July 9, 2026

Today I’m continuing to honor Sherryl Lin Taylor’s life, who passed June 23. It was an honor to help care for her and assist her on her journey home.  Below is another excerpt from Sherryl Lin’s book, Wise Beyond Your Fears, one that could feel like a message or a hope for each of us today.

Flying

I had a dream where I was flying with one of my clients high above the earth. She emailed me the next day and said she had felt me with her as she drifted off to sleep that previous night.

These are the kinds of things that make my heart soar and keep me humble. My human mind is still in awe of the synchronicities, alignments, and small miracles that are now woven throughout my daily life.  I hope I never lose that sense of awe or take any of this for granted.

Excerpted from Wise Beyond Your Fears; Sherryl Lin

I know that Sherryl Lin’s family and friends would say that her belief and delight in life’s synchronicities were among the gifts she lent to others in so many moments and experiences with her.

And I can say that — being with her in her last couple of months — she carried these right through all the changes, uncertainties and difficulties that mount during that phase.  Even near the end she was delighted when, for instance, two items of clothing arrived from Amazon just as the two people she’d ordered them for happened to visit her.

Certainly my experience of those final months has been one of wonder at the amount of magic and synchronicities that filled those days.

Let’s follow her suit and expect, find and enjoy a lot of this in our lives this week, ok?

Wishing you many synchronicities and sending much love,
🪄 💜 Mayet

PSThe family incurred many expenses not covered by insurance and some of you may want to make a financial gift to them.  Here is their GoFundMe link.  Alternatively, you can email me for assistance with your donation.  I know it would be gratefully accepted.

My Time in Upper State NYC — Who Do You Report To?

July 2, 2026

Article highlights:

  • Why I’m in NY state
  • Who do you report to?

In the first days of May I flew to northern New York State to assist my friend Sherryl Lin and her family as she moved into the final months of her life.  It’s something I have done many times, especially during my 12 WalkAbout years.

Many of you here know Sherryl Lin Taylor, formerly Frauenglass, a gifted healer and authentic journeyer of spiritual paths who always maintained an active FaceBook page.  In February of this year she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor.  They are currently always terminal and treatment to prolong life is aggressive.

After careful consideration she and her husband decided against treatment and in favor of quality of life instead of the aggressive treatments giving minimal life extension. Her prognosis was 4-6 months. I joined them in May, when it became necessary for her to have regular assistance.

From diagnosis through her entire progress home, she, her husband and their 4 year old daughter/granddaughter have felt swaddled in a deep sense of peace, held and affirmed in their decision by the support of friends and family, both in the physical and “unseen” worlds.

Sherryl Lin passed last week, in the afternoon of June 23rd, shortly after her husband, Brian, and I visited her.  It was obvious the time was near and we knew it was likely we wouldn’t be there with her because the hospice house she’d recently transferred to was over an hour away.  We trusted it would happen in the right way, knowing that sometimes it’s easier for a person to depart life if loved ones aren’t there.  Perhaps that was the case for her.

For the next 3 weeks, to honor the bold and courageous life of a gifted woman and friend of 17 years, I’ll share a few passages from her book, Wise Beyond Your Fears

It’s a book of common sense and uncommon wisdom, one that contains many AHA moments and has helped many people through life’s confusions and rough patches. While you read the excerpt, send love and prayers to her, her husband and their little daughter.

The family incurred many expenses not covered by insurance and some of you may want to make a financial gift to them.  Here is their GoFundMe link.  Alternatively, you can email me for assistance with your donation.  I know it would be gratefully accepted.

Her book is comprised of short pieces and today’s excerpt shows the honest, transparent approach of her writing.

Frailties

Some mornings I feel more awake than others, and it has nothing to do with how many undisturbed hours I slept.  I am referring to another level of awakeness.

Despite my years of spiritual exploration, meditation practices and work on myself, I still have those very human tendencies to worry about trivial things, obsess about the past, chase after an elusive future, and at times, appear to be completely oblivious to what is really going on around me.

I could use this awareness to beat myself up for not living up to some ideal that I made up in my head, but I know I am just doing the best I can in each moment.  If I look at how I behaved ten years ago, or even a year ago, I see how far I have traveled on the path of living a more meaningful life of freedom and truth.

If I am totally honest here, I will admit that it is kind of fun to check out and just roll with life instead of trying to get it right.  I have found that some of my most creative moments occur in the spaces where I take a break from reality and give up on the idea of acting responsibly. Who do I have to report to anyway?

(Frailties, excerpted from Wise Beyond Your Fears, by Sherryl Lin)

Isn’t that a great question? “Who do I have to report to anyway?”  That’s one that useful in many areas of our lives, right?

The photo today is of the main RoundHouse at Pompanuck Farm. It’s a rustic eco-retreat owned by friends of Sherryl Lin and Brian, where I’ve stayed while assisting the Taylors. It’s in the country and very beautiful, I feel so lucky to stay here.

I posted more photos on my Instagram and Facebook. You can access them from the buttons on this page or for Instagram use: @mma_hulili

I’ll be leaving here after a period of rest. I think I’ll drive, taking a road trip home, visiting friends along the way. As many of you know, road trips have always been one of my best ways to refuel, integrate and gather myself and my thoughts.

Look for more from Sherryl Lin, and me, next week,

Until then, may you find peace and balance in whatever you face today and onward.
Much love,
💗 Mayet Leilani
