I end my January ruminations regarding 2025 with a daring prediction. I suggest this is actually the year of serendipity and fortune.

I don’t think anyone has said that about 2025 – most of what’s been said seems to be about it’s continued bumpiness. I won’t argue about it being bumpy, but what’s new about that?

What interests me most about the much predicted bumpiness is that it’s a 9 year. That means the conclusion of a cycle of bumpiness. What amazing news! Right?

Excitingly, a 9 year is a herald. It ushers in the the new cycle. Thus, a 9 year ends things AND begins things. It’s the energy of both. So let’s not just dread the bumps. Let’s participate in what’s being ushered in!

As Wisdom/Spirit began whispering in my ear about this, I felt an amazing sense of excitement in it. Naturally I wanted to know more. At first though I was only given the feeling of it. And ooo-whee baby, it does set one a-tingle.

Our words for 2025 seem to be Serendipity and Fortune! I received interesting information about this, but something else happened too, something fun. I knew that was the thing to share re 2025.

For Christmas I received a new divining deck which sat awaiting exploration. It’s the “Wisdom of the Oracle Divination Cards” by Colette Baron-Reid, pocket-size. Some people choose words for the year and I decided to try the deck for that.

I opened the deck to shuffle – not my strong suit. They few all over the place. Only one was face up though and – probably like you – I decided that was the word of the year card.

Opening the deck’s booklet, I seemed to hear my Wisdom team rustle in happy anticipation. So I knew it was going to be about the exciting energy of 2025 they’d been talking to me about.

Serendipity and Fortune

Opportunity allied with readiness; the awareness of synchronicity; luck and good fortune appearing as signs and symbols; a magical alignment of events.

You are stepping into alignment with the greater good, where your dreams and the collective dream resonate in exquisite harmony. Now is the time for luck and preparation to meet, creating miracles you could never have planned all by yourself.

You are a channel now for providence, as a higher energy uses you as a force on behalf of the whole world. Your fortune becomes everyone’s fortune. Everything you bring into being now leaves a wondrous legacy for others in the future. Your service to the world is being supported at this time. Expect the unexpected and smile, knowing Spirit loves you very much.

Spirit has a plan, and that plan is to place you in front of the right persons at the right time. You have met, or are about to meet, someone vitally important to your journey, Someone Spirit wants to bring into your life. Only Divine Forces can bring about this meeting – it is out of your hands so pay attention to the signs Spirit presents.

You will now always be in the right place at the right time, grateful, knowing the life is now aligned in your favor and fortune is smiling on you. Victory and success are yours. The choices you have made in the past have prepared you for the opportunities before you. This is your lucky moment, the timing is perfect. Spirit always knows what you need and is guiding you where you’re meant to go as you pay attention, recognizing the signs presented to you and acting on them.

As I finished reading, Spirit said to me, “This is the energy of your year. Read it each morning on waking and before your dreamtime at night. Read it during your day when you flag or overwhelm. Let it sink deep into your being. The energy and ability to fulfill this promise for your life and your world exists within and all around you and you are the herald for it in the world.”

Following Spirit’s advice, I’m reading it daily, creating a heightened energy of joyous anticipation to harness the energy and opportunities available now. Perhaps you’d like to join me on your own behalf and that of our world?

Cleaning Closets and Surrendering in Wise Abandon!

2025 is a 9 year, a completion year. But it’s two-fold. It completes a cycle BUT a nine year also sets the stage for what follows. So our completion isn’t only garbage duty. It also ushers in the new. This year while cleansing and completing, we are also creating our new lives.

Completion R US. It’s what’s happening. Allowing that it is the opportunity. How to just allow completion? Let things go. With wise abandon. Be done with stuff.

Yet another deep purification year? Why? So one’s house is fresh and prepared. For new patterns and blessings and plans. And for more Light. Which means more old stuff is coming up to make room for what’s new. Which is where the wise abandon comes in.

Part of what wise-abandonment means is less analysis and more letting things go. The mind wants to say, “Why’s that old thing coming up again, what’s wrong with me?” That’s it’s habit.

Instead we can honor what has been by simply recognizing it, saying, “Yes, I know you, we have walked together a while.” Then we can pat it on it on the head – or on it’s behind – and say, “and I bid you a firm farewell.”

The other part of wise abandon is bringing the strength of that energy to deal with the daily mundane, meeting it head on and put things in order. A completion year isn’t the time for procrastination.

Recently I was grumbling about feeling nudged (nagged?) to deal with two things I don’t want to: taxes and the out of control storage room. Why NOT put them off a little? There was no hurry yet, I grinched. Wisdom/Spirit interrupted my mood with this nugget:

“How will you live? What kind of home and environment will you command in the times to come? Will you be surrounded by beauty, order and luxury – or decay and chaos?” Well, when you put it that way… That’s a great question and it’s now pinned on fridge as a reminder.

The Best Physical Metaphor Ever:

Our home is a very effective physical metaphor. Home has a magical connection to our lives, past, present and future. Clearing the decks, cleaning out the garage, giving away that half of the wardrobe rarely worn. These are powerful acts in this year, ones that assert both completion AND they create what you want your life to contain, beauty, order and luxury.

Setting our physical houses in order is the bit of alchemy that can transform both our spiritual and physical lives. Our homes are powerful mirrors of creation. They actually reflect our life out into the world. Changing home changes our world in important ways.

So I’ve turned my mind to those and other such tasks. I’ve made a commitment to this year of completing and I’m picking away at the steps involved while releasing with as much joyfully wise abandon as I can.

I’m not just grinding away, I’m imprinting beauty, order and luxury to define the new life taking form around me. For us all. May our personal worlds begin now to take shape in fulfillment of the promise held in our Souls. That is my prayer for 2025.

Out of the Mouth of Babes: Wisdom From a 10-Year Old Boy

I came across this wonderful bit of truth. Out of the mouths of babes…

Marco, age 10, from Bulgaria said,

“Open the eyes of your heart and solve your problems in a new way. You believe it will take years or lifetimes to solve things like hunger, disease and violence. Is it possible that it is simple, and that your need to see it as complicated has been the very thing that has kept you from the answer?”

It may be there is one thing – our tendency to complicate things in our minds – that most prevents us from solving our challenges more effortlessly. Our learned tendency to gravitate toward complexity instead of simplicity runs deep, doesn’t it?

Our ego has a rapt fixation on the complicated because it allows opportunities for cleverness and singular heroism. This tends to create complicated, confusing and even frightening lives.

The problem arises because simple methods can seem naive and boring to the ego- driven mind. But could it be that – as Marco said – we just need to open the eyes of our heart instead? To do that we simplify our mind. We untangle our thinking.

I’ve often mused about what that could look like in my own life. It’s turned into a beautiful thing. For instance recently I faced a potentially difficult, complicated communication.

Mercury was retrograde, no less, and it was with someone who really likes complicated, angsty, aggression-prone interactions. She likes to take offense.

I was thinking about how to approach that when I remembered Marco’s words so I decided to try “opening the eyes of my heart” to solve the problem. I began by simplifying my thinking. Untangling my thoughts always lets the light in.

I quit my attempt to anticipate and strategize with my mind. I dropped my mind’s storytelling. I went in open-hearted and wide-eyed, seeing it through my heart’s perspective. It kept things, and me, (and her!) at our simple and dearest best. My doing this seemed to issue an unspoken invitation to her.

And wow, my hat’s off to what happened.

The moment turned into the dearest, funnest, most wonderful sort of connection. I’m still gobsmacked and in awe. The heart can handle it all, yes it can, yes it can.

What a way to live. It really is something to think about: Open-eyed, open-Hearted Living. What can this bring to our lives? What can it look like today, tomorrow? I can’t wait to see.
